Electric Cars Will Save Us All

November 28th, 2006 at 03:51 am

Okay okay guys I'll be responsible for goodness sakes! Wink

Thanks to your..."sobering" advice, I think I'll put a hold on the Jaguar and think more long term. Bentley here I come! Just give me about....85 years?

So as it stands now, it looks like I have that six grand in the home fund, and I'll stick with the good 'ol reliable ranger. Stupid 'ol reliable ranger. Frown

On the plus side, MsSuperSaver was right about the realty atmosphere here. The oilfield industry is skyrocketing and the prices of homes are doubling overnight. I just have to get on that bandwagon soon enough so that I get a piece!

I'll post some financial details later. Thanks guys!

Lets go hunt aristocrats...and shout them to death

Well I thought that I should explain my position a bit better on the "expensive cars" topic. For now I drive a 1994 Ford Ranger. It's modified with airbag assisted suspension, intake, exhaust and a big stereo (I didn't do the exhaust or stereo, the previous owner did. I hate loud). It has a 160 horsepower 3.0L Vulcan V6 that gets 17 miles per gallon. I could probably get four grand for it if need be. In the next couple months I'll either be replacing the danger ranger or supplementing it with a summer car.

I want to keep myself as far out of debt as possible until I have a proper career path, so any car I get I'll be paying for outright. Here are the vehicles I'll be choosing from:

1. Bentley Continental GT - $187,279.50
2. Porsche 911 GT3 - $139,492.31
3. Jaguar XKR - $93,432.96
4. BMW M3 CSL - $91,684.27

...okay but seriously guys. This is what I was thinking.

1. 1990 Jaguar XJ6 - $5,000 plus repairs.
My friend's car. He needs something more practical so he can sell it to me for a good price. Comes with 18" mag rims and new pirelli tires. The catch is that the front right suspension knocks, it needs some head work and getting parts for a Jag up here is mighty expensive. 251 horsepower AJ I6, 0-60 in 7.7 sec. 15mpg.

2. 1998-2002 Dodge Dakota R/T - ~$10,000
Attractive option, because I could drive it in the winter. Fastest production truck in the world until the arrival of the big SRT-10. 250 horsepower 5.9L Magnum V8, 0-60 in 7.3 sec. 14mpg.

Or you know, I could save my money and put it towards a downpayment on a house. But I'm not THAT responsible. Smile

Which would you choose!

20 Things

I saw that a lot of people have done this. Lets try to fit in, right? No better way to get introduced.

1. Yes, I'm really eighteen. I make no apologies for that.

2. I'm Canadian. I make no apologies for that either.

3. It looks like I'm heading into the IT field. Completely blind, for the most part.

4. I hope this whole "computer" fad is over soon. I really hate the things.

5. Currently, I work at a mid-sized computer repair shop as a technician.

6. I've been at my current job for a bit more than a year, but don't plan on staying much longer. There's no money in service.

7. I love cats, but don't have any.

8. One of the only things I'm passionate about is expensive cars. It's unfortunate for me that they're so....expensive!

9. If I had the grades in school, I would be pursuing a career in the military.

10. If I could return to any age it would be five years old. You never know how great things are until you've passed them.

11. I've never been out of the country, due to a lack of time and money.

12. My name is not actually Carter.

13. I have advanced insomnia. I sleep once every three or four days.

14. I don't date. I don't see the point of dating so young.

15. My favorite movies are Donnie Darko and A Beautiful Mind. Eraserhead is also good in the right state of mind.

16. I haven't read a book in the past 6 years. It's too hard to find the time for something that seems so pointless.

17. I don't play video games or sports either. I don't cook, write or anything. All I do is work. Does that make me dull or admirable?

18. I don't own a suit.

19. I have a catfish named Hoover.

20. Talking about myself for half an hour is bound to make me feel guilty. Frown

I'm tired. I'm bored. Where's the cocaine.

Sorry, just some famous first words. The internet scares me a bit. Hugs for all you, hope there's good times in the future!
